This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, features an exciting night of hockey as the Boston Bruins® kicked off their season. The Bruins have enjoyed one of the most esteemed histories in the NHL®. Long considered to be strictly a Canadian sport, the Boston Bruins became the first American franchise to join the League in October of 1924. The club adopted the distinctive black and gold team colors as early as the 1930s, but it wasn't until 1948 that the now well-recognized spoked logo appeared on their jerseys. Today, the Bruins boast one of the most enthusiastic fan bases in sports. Their home arena, TD Garden, hosts a capacity of 17,565 on game day.
